Why people love it
A standout slice of Barbados
Family-owned sea cave at the dramatic northern tip of Barbados — natural rock pools to swim in, clifftop views and a Caribbean lunch restaurant on site.
What to expect
The experience, end to end
Carved into the cliffs of North Point in St.
Lucy, Animal Flower Cave is the island's only accessible sea cave — where the Atlantic and Caribbean meet.
Inside, natural rock pools (warm enough to swim when conditions allow) frame openings out to the crashing sea; the namesake sea anemones still live in the deeper pools.
Above ground there's a clifftop restaurant serving fresh, locally-sourced Caribbean cuisine — think jerk chicken, fish tacos, breadfruit tacos and a daily catch — with some of the best whale-watching on the island (Jan–Mar).
Bring a swimsuit and towel for the cave pools, and book a table in advance for lunch.
