Paynes Bay is one of the great west-coast swimming beaches: long, soft sand, calm Caribbean water and almost guaranteed turtle sightings on the snorkel boats that depart from the shore.
Several boutique hotels and beach restaurants (including the legendary Cliff and Daphne's) line the bay.
