Why people love it
A standout slice of Barbados
The Soup Bowl at Bathsheba is one of the Caribbean's most respected reef breaks — world-class for experienced surfers, mesmerising to watch from shore.
What to expect
The experience, end to end
Bathsheba's Soup Bowl is a powerful right-hand reef break consistently rated among the best waves in the Caribbean — Kelly Slater is on record calling it a top-three wave.
It's strictly for experienced surfers; the reef is sharp and the swell unforgiving.
Beginners head to Freights Bay or Surfers Point on the south coast instead.
Even non-surfers should make the drive: the surrounding coastline, with its iconic mushroom-shaped rocks, is the most dramatic in Barbados.
