Why people love it
A standout slice of Barbados
The most scenic self-drive on the island — Atlantic coastline, the Scotland District's rolling hills, and viewpoints from Cherry Tree Hill to Bathsheba.
What to expect
The experience, end to end
Renting a car for a day to drive the east coast is one of the most rewarding things you can do in Barbados.
The East Coast Road follows long stretches of empty Atlantic shoreline north from Bathsheba; inland, the Scotland District rolls through some of the greenest, hilliest scenery in the eastern Caribbean.
Plan stops at Cherry Tree Hill viewpoint, Bathsheba (lunch), Andromeda Gardens and a north-coast viewpoint like Cove Bay or River Bay.
